About Me : My interest in photography started in the mid 80's. My brother sat on top of our garage with his camera and took a photo of the sun. It was a orange dot in the middle of an otherwise black photo, it was such a dramatic shot. However, it captured my imagination. Soon after I bought an Olympus OM-10 (not bad for a first camera:-). I have had several camera's since, but my motivation has not changed. I still find myself shooting into the sun....copying my brother!

About Photography : I have given up trying to impress other people with my photography, The real challenge now is impressing me. I am my own worst critic.

About Influences : I have looked at the work of dozens of photographers. Its great, but it doesn't really click with me. The only one I can really identify with is Dan Paris. I see a lot of what I like about Dans work starting to come through in my photos. Dans Page. I have yet to develop any real influences as far as motor sport photography is concerned. I am trying very hard to do my own thing. If I had to pick one I would say Paul Nathan.

About Camera's : Canons. Currently using Canon's 5D MKII . I struggled with Nikon's. They always seemed to shift the colors towards the dark end of the spectrum for my eyes. I just love the bright color reproduction the current Canon camera's deliver.

About Lenses : Again, the Canon stuff is great. My main weapon is the 100-400MM IS L-Series.

About Printers : Canon I9950 A3, with 8 ink tanks (At least 1 always empty). Canon Pro paper.

About Computers & Monitors : I'm a bit of a Mac "Fan boy", but use whatever gives me the best results. I run a hybrid network. Generally all photography and color specific tasks are done on the Mac Pro with a Mac Cinema Display as the color profile management seems to work better. Video editing I have found works better in a Windows environment for me.

About Software : Again, I'm probably a bit of a fan boy, but I just love Adobe apps. With my photography, I try to do all color adjustments in camera. I will sometimes change the curves a little in Photoshop, but generally I save that for graphics and fantasy photo creation. I am trying to keep my workflow simple these days. I was spending far to much time obsessing over details and missing the big picture....so to speak. With video, Premier Pro is by far my preferred program. With graphics, I know I should be using Illustrator, but I always end up back in Photoshop where I am comfortable. And finally for web design, I use a little of everything. I have yet to find one package that gives me all I want, so I tend to take little bits out of Dreamweaver & Expression web, as well as the old "Notepad" approach.

About Motor Sports Photography : I have been very lucky, and met some wonderful people who have given me the opportunity to participate in motor sport photography. These relationships have moved me to not only first class events like the V8 Supercars, but also the corporate sponsorship side of motor racing. I am very excited about the new opportunities that have opened up for me, and I warmly thank Greg Evans of V8 Race Experience for taking such an interest in my work, and giving me these opportunities.

What's a Gruffpuppy? : That's my little black dog. She kids on that she is vicious with those fangs, but she is really sweet. I love her, and this site is dedicated to her.
